hello, im working on a coolmatic with a 12/24v danfoss. put a new compressor module on, freezer ran fine for me. then started short cycling. if i jump stat, itll run on 120v, but cycles on battery power. have 26vdc at module on shore power thru cycle. have 12vdc on battery then it drops to 10.7vdc as it runs then compressor stops but fan runs for half a minute then sequence starts over. any ideas? thanks

With AC breaker turned off Check 12 volts into unit’s power converter and voltage out during compressor start, they must both be 12.5 volts. If they are above 12.4 volts there is a problem with boats wiring or low battery voltage. It there is a voltage drop inside converter the switching circuit inside converter is the problem.

ok, ill try that. i didnt mention earlier that to keep compressor running on shore power, i had to remove the 1500 ohm resister on the cold control lead to keep it going. wondering if compressor is going out on me. the refrigerator is on the same breaker, has the same type of cooling unit and runs fine on either power source.

Keep old Module because it and compressor is also probably good. You need to install a troubleshooting $2 LED. Most of the time these no start condition are caused by a resistance connection in boats wiring.

still have old module, with that one I couldnt get compressor to run, even with stat jumped out. I bought an LED today. Is it polarity sensitive?

Yes, LED is Priority sensitive. I recommend the pre-calibrated 12 volt red LED with red and black wires sold by Radio Shack. You will also need a dual terminal connector for the small + terminal on module so both fan red wire and red LED wire can connect to the same terminal.
