Bulletins
It is rare that a newly
designed product is without flaws or minor defects. These design omissions could be as simple as improved
operating instructions. Large manufactures of automobiles, airplanes, engines and even boats inform their
dealers how to correct these problems by issuing Service Bulletins. The only time the end user is made aware
that the item he purchased may have a problem is when there is a safety problem.
Thee are two reasons the end
user is not notified of potential problems, costs and they assume that some defects may never cause the owner
problems. Manufacturers generate the need to produce service bulletins during the warranty period to provide
service personnel with corrective action or a typical repair.
I have tried to provide up date information and typical repairs on boat refrigeration equipment in my books through the years but as I cannot revise the book often enough to keep up with the flow of technological information, I thought that I would add a new page titled "Service Bulletins" to the web site. I will periodically post manufacturers' bulletins as well as reader's personal experiences involving boat refrigeration that fit this category. To keep the bulletins going I will need your help. It's true that experience is the best teacher so if you have had any experiences with boat refrigeration products that you feel would be of benefit to others, please email them to me and I will post them on the "Service Bulletins" web page. Also, if you would like to be notified when a new bulletin has been added, just send an email stating that you would like to be notified and you will be added to the list.
The following bulletins are submitted as user comments and may not represent the manufactures opinions or recommendations. Kollmann Marine, Inc assumes no liability of any kind for the completeness or accuracy of this material.
